| Hard to believe that Dave has time for toys other than Guitars. But the Guitar is the tool of his trade. Toys are for pure fun. Dave is a Corvette lover and has had three of them. Posted here are photos of his white 1980 and his current 1995 triple black roadster. (He also had a blue 1982.) After owning the white '80 for 15 years, Dave sold it in December of 2001. This started his hunt for a C4 model. After a long search, Dave found his 1995 triple black Corvette in May of 2002. Triple black refers to the black body, black leather interior, and the black convertible top. The car he found had only 12,000 miles on it, and is absolutely like new. Way to go Dave! Shortly after getting the '95, Dave also sold the '82. Where to from here? Maybe a Corvette ZR1 in Dave's future? He says "no" for now, but you should see his eyes light up when he's talking about them. He doesn't put many miles on the '95 Corvette, but he has been known to drive it to gigs as far away as Laughlin, NV. |

| He also loves his Harley Davidson. It is a highly chromed-out, and highly desireable 1990 SOFTAIL CUSTOM, It only has about 8000 miles on it. Dave admits he doesn't ride it very much, and every time he takes it in for service they try to talk him into selling it. This is an investment that can be enjoyed more than stocks. | ![]() |
A cool story to share is that one time we ran into Dave after a concert. As a small token of our appreciation we had brought Dave a small gift... an official Harley tee shirt. Before looking in the bag, Dave said "aw gee guys, you really shouldn't give me anything." and I was wondering if he was even going to accept the gift. Then he pulled it out of the bag and said "A Harley Shirt! I'll take it!" He was genuinely enthused. Dave, is there such a thing as an endorsement deal between rockers and Harley Davidson? Go for it! (Dave has mentioned several times that though he appreciates the gifts sent by fans, he really would rather they spent their money on REO concert tickets and CDs. He has asked me to discourage sending of gifts.
| What else? Well how about a powerboat! Dave brought to me this picture
of his jet-boat. The boat is only 18 ft long but has a big block engine.
He said he "really doesn't get to use it very much". But isn't it a kick
to own a rocket like this one? He tows the boat with his 2002 Chevy Tahoe
Z71. Dave loves his Tahoe!

| Photo showing Dave with a Les Paul Custom. Dave buys and sells guitars regularly. (More buying than selling these days). This photo was taken to give to the webmaster's brother, who purchased this guitar. This photo is included here because it was taken in Dave's home, in the room that he calls the studio. | ![]() |

Dave has many good friends in the music business. Here he is after a dinner with friends Pablo Gamboa, (Tour Manager for ZZ Top) and his good buddy Bob Quandt, (Tour Manager for Ted Nugent). Photo was taken and sent in by Bob Quandt's nephew, Adam Schaller. |
Dave also enjoys playing golf. In 1998 he came to Las Vegas for a tournament of music performers. In 2001 his team won first place in Mark and Brian's benefit tournament.
